Scott Curtis – PRINCIPAL
After his career in education kicked off in 1991, Scott Curtis spent the majority of his time as a middle school and high school math teacher. He took his first principal position in 2005 in the St. Helens School District, and in 2008 joined the Oregon City School District as an elementary principal. Throughout his career, Scott has had the unique opportunity to serve as a principal in all three levels of educational institution; elementary, middle school and high school. Outside of school, he stays busy parenting his three high school-aged children and attending their various school and extracurricular activities. As a family, they enjoy camping, traveling and playing board games together, as well as attending sporting events and watching movies.
“As the principal of CAIS I am excited to have the opportunity to work with students on a daily basis and help prepare them for their future careers. There are so many pathways available to CAIS students to help them discover their passions and connect their interests with the technical and professional skills necessary to be an amazing employee. Success is very individual at CAIS, because students get to pursue their career interest in both a high school and college setting. The amount of college credits earned by CAIS students every year is astonishing. This level of preparation allows every student to either enter the workforce immediately or continue with their college education. In my 25+ years of education, I’ve never been so excited about the school I work at and the work that is being done to prepare students for their future.”
